Next week we'll return with PART 2 of BAD SUPER-HERO MOVIES, until then, my silly heartwarming story of Goddard and my engagement.
HAPPY HOLIDAZE KIDS!!!!
The Ring =
from an awesome New York Jeweler called Little King. This is a raw diamond (uncut, unpolished) set in silver. I like prominent prongs so this is like my DREAM ring. =) He did a good job.So some background, I knew I was going to marry Jacob during opening night of MURDERERS, the 1st play I attended that he worked on. During the after-party, I was turned facing my best friend Steve talking to him, and Jacob was behind me talking to his friends but he held my hand even though we were turned away from each other and I felt so secure. That's when I knew he was going to be my husband someday. That night we told each other we loved each other for the 1st time. This was only 2-3 weeks into our relationship.
Fast forward to this year, I really started harassing Jacob for a ring. I'm not gonna lie; I was a complete and total nag. Jacob kept telling me "let me do it in my own time" and I agreed but would pout whenever we had the conversation.
I had a picture of the engagement ring taped to my computer monitor that I liked. From Little King jewelers. Jacob apparently spent some time thinking and had decided to get some of his grandmother's jewels (a ruby that his grandfather had bought for her while he was stationed in India during WWII) reset for my engagement ring. Sadly, when his father had the ruby appraised, it turned out to be a fake. Jacob (and I'm sure the family) was a bit devastated. But that was when he decided to call Little King and get my engagement ring from them.
They no longer carried the ring I had a picture of, but that ended up lucky in my way b/c I got a silver colored ring (the picture was gold with a gold raw diamond) and a silver colored raw diamond. It's so beautiful. As a co-worker says, it looks like it came out of a fairy tale.
So yesterday we're driving home and I actually brought up a ring AGAIN in the car. He said it would be a couple years. I sighed, pouted a bit, and we came home. We don't exchange gifts on Christmas (New Years Eve is when we do our usual gift exchange between us) so I wasn't expecting anything but I gave him his vintage silk screen set and he gave me NIRVANA UNPLUGGED and we drank Mike R's wine and watched Michel Gondry videos and we were dancing and having fun.
I sat at my computer around 8:15-ish and Jacob came in and sat next to me on the floor. I didn't notice but he was on one knee. And then he pulled out a ring and I seriously said "you are not fucking serious" for about 3 minutes before I actually believed he was proposing to me. Then I started to bawl and said YES. I had NO Idea that this was going to happen. He had asked my dad's blessing while we were visiting my parents and my dad gave it wholeheartedly. I immediately called my mom who was surprised just b/c he had told everyone he would be doing it on New Years Eve. But we were having such a nice night that he wanted to do it then.
Best Christmas Present EVER! I am sooooo happy.
We have a date: September 22nd

So that's the story of my engagement to the only boy I've ever loved with every fiber of my being. The one I knew would be my husband just b/c he held my hand.
I love you Jacob. You have made me a better person and I treasure you. And damn! The rock is hot babe! You did good. xoxoxoxox
